But What If

Note: The story contains a religious character's turmoil with their faith and gender. Might not be the most enjoyable topics for some.

Two teens explore an old abandoned house. Wow. Except it's broad daylight, it's not that spooky, there's a lotta yapping, the kiddos are both Christian, and one is painfully closeted!

This short story was made for the Trans Rep 25 Jam! Wanted to make something with where queerness and religion are involved. I wrote it on short notice so it's not the best developed. I still hope it's enjoyable/thoughtful. Feedback welcome!

My original plan was to make a kinetic novel, which I still plan on doing but needed to lower my scope for the jam due to joining towards the end.

It's a fictional story, though a lot of the tran's characters feelings were based on my own when I was going through the same dilemma.

Edit: Slightly nervous people will take the story the wrong way. The story was primarily aimed at people who are pretty familiar with Christianity. So if you aren't, some parts might seem weird to you. That's okay. Just understand each trans person's experience with their gender is different and it can be extra wacky for some religious folks. You're welcome to ask questions if you feel confused or concerned on certain parts, especially given my wording can be convoluted lol.
